the large market garden run by the Al Janade community to
raise funds. Most of the village population of 15,000 are
displaced people.
The National Society provides
the only available health facilities to inhabitants of Wad
Sherif camp. Isolated in the desert, it is home to 38,000
Eritrean refugees.

Literacy classes and health education for displaced women
are the mainstay of women's activities in the Sudanese Red
Crescent. Over 10,000 women attended these classes last year.
