International humanitarian law -
Answers to your questions
ICRC, Geneva, 2002

This recently revamped brochure is an ideal introduction to international humanitarian law. It explores how even in war there are limits: limits on the conduct of warfare and limits on the behaviour of combatants. Its colourful design and revised content, which includes a new chapter on what international humanitarian law says about terrorism, make it accessible to all readers interested in both the origins and the modern-day application of the law.

Available from the ICRC in English, French and Spanish.

Containing an analysis of existing case law related to each war crime in the Rome Statute, it is a unique tool particularly for judges, prosecutors and international and national lawyers in interpreting the war crimes provisions.

Available from the ICRC in English.
