Prisoner in a jail
This object was carved from
a bar of soap by an inmate and given to an ICRC delegate during
a prison visit in Myanmar in 1999. Detainees use the soap
to wash themselves and their clothes. Soap is the only item
allowed in the cells besides food, clothes and a toothbrush.
