Turning goodwill into commitment

In order to turn goodwill into specific humanitarian commitment each member of the International Conference has been asked to make a pledge. This is the first time that pledging is part of the official programme, an idea that National Societies and governments welcomed when it was first presented earlier this year.

Many National Societies have involved local branches and volunteers in the process of defining their pledge and renewed their discussions with governments about the role and activities of the Red Cross Red Crescent.
